One-Run HYROX Race Event

Race the Full HYROX Format — Once, Coached, In West Island

The One-Run HYROX Race Event at Olympia Performance is a single-shot, full-format HYROX race simulation held inside our 24/7 facility in West Island Montreal. Eight 1 km runs, eight functional stations, official-style scoring and on-floor coaching — a real race-day rehearsal in one session.

What it is

What is the One-Run HYROX Race Event?

The One-Run HYROX Race Event is a full HYROX-format race simulation run inside Olympia Performance — eight 1 km runs alternated with eight functional workout stations, completed back to back and timed end to end. You race once, you race the full format, and you walk out with a real reference time before race day.

It is built for athletes who want a true rehearsal of the HYROX experience — the pacing, the transitions, the lung burn after the sled — without travelling to a city event. Coaches set up the floor, brief the field, run the clock and stand at the stations. You bring your shoes and your effort.

What is the race format on event day?

The event follows the standard HYROX race structure: eight 1 km runs alternated with eight functional workout stations. You complete one run, hit a station, then immediately return to the run lane — no rest blocks, no scaling of the sequence.

  1. 1 km Run → SkiErg

Open with a 1 km run, then transition straight onto the SkiErg for 1 000 m. Sets the tempo for the race and exposes any over-pacing in the first kilometre.

  2. 1 km Run → Sled Push

Second kilometre, then a sled push for the prescribed distance. The first true leg burner — riders learn quickly how their first run pace cost them.

  3. 1 km Run → Sled Pull

Pacing run into a sled pull. Grip and posterior chain are now part of the conversation, not just the legs and lungs.

  4. 1 km Run → Burpee Broad Jumps

Fourth run, then burpee broad jumps for the prescribed distance. Mid-race grind — the segment that usually decides finish times.

  5. 1 km Run → Rowing

Run, then 1 000 m on the rower. A controlled chance to recover legs while still producing watts.

  6. 1 km Run → Farmers Carry

Sixth run, then a loaded farmers carry for the prescribed distance. Grip is on the line — drop the implement, restart the segment.

  7. 1 km Run → Sandbag Lunges

Run into sandbag lunges. The legs that paced you through six runs now meet a high-rep loaded lunge — pacing earlier in the race shows up here.

  8. 1 km Run → Wall Balls

Final 1 km run, then wall balls to close the race. Cross the line, stop the clock, get your finish time on paper.

Who is the One-Run Race Event for?

The event is built for HYROX athletes preparing for an upcoming city race, hybrid trainees who want a real benchmark, and first-timers who want to feel the full format before they sign up for a sanctioned event. Coaches train clients from youth all the way to ninety years old, so the entry standard scales to your readiness.

How does race day actually run?

You arrive 45 minutes before your wave for check-in, equipment briefing and a coach-led warm-up. Heats are released on the clock, you race the full eight-and-eight format, then you cool down on the floor while the next wave starts.

  • Check-in, bib and timing assignment 45 minutes pre-race
  • Equipment walk-through on every station before the start
  • Coach-led warm-up specific to the HYROX demands
  • Wave start with on-floor judging at each station
  • Live finish time and station splits captured at the line
  • Post-race cool-down, debrief and pacing review with a coach

How should I prepare for the One-Run?

Treat it like the real race. Train the format inside our HYROX programming for at least four to six weeks, dial in your transitions, fuel and hydrate the day before, and arrive early enough to warm up properly. Pacing — not max effort — wins the One-Run.

  1. 1. Train the Format

Run our HYROX programming so you feel runs into stations under fatigue. Race day is not the day to discover what a sled into a run feels like.

  2. 2. Pace the First Two Kilometres

Most finish times are lost in runs one and two. Plan a conservative opening pace — you can always negative-split, you cannot un-blow yourself up.

  3. 3. Practise Transitions

The clock runs through transitions. Decide in advance how you set the sled, where you place chalk, how you grab the sandbag — small seconds add up over eight stations.

  4. 4. Fuel, Hydrate, Sleep

Eat normally the day before, hydrate steadily, sleep. Race-morning carbs and caffeine on the schedule that already works for you in training — never something new.

One-Run HYROX Race Event FAQ

Common questions before registering for the One-Run HYROX Race Event at Olympia Performance in West Island Montreal.

Do I have to be a HYROX athlete to register for the One-Run?

No. The event is open to HYROX racers, hybrid athletes and motivated first-timers. Coaches brief every station before the start and stand at the floor during the race, so you do not need prior HYROX experience to safely complete the format.

Is the format the same as an official HYROX city race?

Yes — the One-Run follows the standard HYROX sequence of eight 1 km runs alternated with the eight functional stations: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. Distances and reps mirror the official race.

Can I race the One-Run as a doubles pair or team?

Yes. The One-Run can be raced solo, as a doubles pair sharing the stations, or as a relay-style team. Pairs and teams are a popular option for athletes preparing for HYROX Doubles or for new racers who want a partner on race day.

What should I bring on race day?

Bring training shoes you trust, a fitted shirt, water, your own chalk if you prefer it, and a small towel. Olympia provides every piece of equipment used in the race — sleds, sandbags, wall balls, ergs and timing — so you only need to show up race-ready.

How do I register and what does it cost as of 2026?
